A new DC Streetcar system is being constructed on H Street and in other parts of the District. It’s been nearly 50 years since streetcars last operated in the District. New red-and-white streetcars have been purchased and are scheduled to go into service along H Street — the first phase of the system — in late 2013.
H Street is already a livable, walkable neighborhood but streetcars will add to the neighborhood’s transportation options, including a comprehensive Metrobus and Metrorail system, car-sharing services with designated street parking spaces in the H Street area and many other neighborhoods, improved management of scarce street parking spaces, and an ever-growing array of bicycle lanes, bike racks, and Capital Bikeshare stations.
Literature Review On Helping Behaviour The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is managing the construction of the streetcar system and providing updates for the community. Here are some resources provided by DDOT:
