Delicia is a mechanical engineer whose education, community service, and diverse business development experience led her to the successful founding of Indigo Engineering Group, LLC in 2004. As Indigo Engineering’s President/CEO, Delicia is responsible for the promotion and general operations of the firm, including pursuing engineering services performance contracts in the geotechnical, environmental, mechanical, electrical and plumbing disciplines. In just eight years, Delicia has successfully secured contracts from large commercial and mixed-use developers, premier architects and government agencies including the Smithsonian Institute, District of Columbia and City of New Orleans.
Delicia gained her early professional experience with a small firm that allowed her to gain maximum exposure to engineering design, construction management and general business practices. During this period, she worked on design contracts for WMATA, the Georgetown Performing Arts Center, District of Columbia Public Schools and the Washington Convention Center.
Delicia credits her expansive professional peer network to her former role as Founding President of the Howard University College of Engineering, Architecture & Computer Sciences (CEACS) Alumni Network. As President, Delicia dedicated five years to fundraising, student scholarship awards, alumni excellence awards receptions, networking events and professional development seminars.
